What is a children's anesthesiologist?
Children's anesthesiologists are pediatric physicians trained in administering pre-surgery evaluation, anesthesia and post-surgery care for children. Our pediatric anesthesiologists receive highly specialized training to ensure that surgical procedures are as comfortable as possible for children of all ages.
If advanced care is needed, pediatric anesthesiologists work in collaboration with a team of expert subspecialists through UMMC’s Center for Maternal and Fetal Care. This multidisciplinary team works together to care for both the mother and child’s unique needs - all under one roof.
